2017 Show


The Canadian Furniture Show offered great activities that supplemented the business transactions.


Different networking events improved the visitor experience, such as an Industry Cocktail, gala, and Meet-and-greet with the CEO of the Show completed the business opportunities!

Lunch & Learn Speaker Series  

New in 2017! The Canadian Furniture Show presented a Lunch & Learn Speaker Series. On each of the three days of the event, at 12 p.m., Show participants were treated to a special presentation.


If you were looking for inspiration, great insights, and a few secrets to success, you couldn't miss these new midday appointments!


Sarah Richardson is an award-winning designer and television personality, known around the world for dramatic transformations that turn ordinary spaces into magazine-worthy rooms with an incredible wow factor.

In addition to being a host and co-producer of eight HGTV lifestyle series seen in over 100 countries, Sarah has a growing line of signature products including custom furniture and two fabric lines for Kravet Inc. She is also a best-selling author: Sarah Style and At Home Sarah Style published in 2014 and 2015. 


Her special design talk, on May 26 at 12 p.m., inspired us for the months to come!

Founding partner and CEO of Abacus Data, as well as leader in online research methodologies, David Coletto is an expert on Canadian Millennials. He has led projects for companies in many sectors to help them connect and engage with Generation Y. Earning a doctorate from the University of Calgary in 2010, he also teaches courses on polling and public opinion, political marketing, research and public affairs. He is regularly called upon by media and organizations alike to provide expert analyses of public opinion and research methodologies.

His presentation, on May 27, at 12 p.m., on Millennials was captivating.

A feisty little Canadian retailer, Kimmberly Capone, battles back against the online retail giants. In her presentation entitled Red to beyond Black... in just one year! Kimmberly will share her journey and secrets on how she reinvented her struggling, 40-year-old, family retail business, Treasures, to quadruple sales. By providing design services paired with 3D technology, she’s offering an unparalleled shopping experience. Treasures was started by her father, and today, Kimmberly successfully runs the retail showroom in Toronto's prestigious Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

Industry Cocktail

CHFA's Gala & RSP Awards  


On Thursday, May 25, The CHFA’s annual Canadian Home Furnishings Awards Gala celebrated the achievements of industry colleagues, including the new RSP Awards which recognized sales professionals throughout Canada’s home furnishings industry.



The RSP Awards celebrated the outstanding achievement of sales professionals throughout Canada’s home furnishings industry. In addition to sales success, the RSP Awards were driven by peer-recognized achievement for delivering customer excellence by going “above and beyond”.

RSP Award recipients were recognized during the annual Canadian Home Furnishings Awards Gala held just prior to the opening of the Show. RSP Award Recipients were selected from an open nomination process on the advice and recommendation of a panel of industry professionals.

Booth Awards  

The Canadian Furniture Show Best Booth Awards were back in 2017, in collaboration with SOFA. The awards aimed at rewarding exhibitors who went above and beyond in creating a truly outstanding booth!


A jury of esteemed industry professionals, selected by SOFA, evaluated and honored outstanding booths on Friday, May 26.

For a new relaxing chair massage, or a beauty break including a manicure or a shoeshine, participants visited The Spa! 




The Pub - Hall 2

For that European-style break, The Pub offered a full espresso bar, wine, beer and classic cocktails, plus a variety of fresh market-style sandwiches and salads.
